Creating a fundraising program


At San Diego State, I joined the organization as the Alumni Club Director for the Athletic Development office.  I soon earned a promotion to Operations Coordinator where I oversaw day-to-day fundraising operations for the Aztec Athletic Foundation.

Our goal as a foundation was to cultivate and steward private donations to the Athletics program.  To achieve this goal our team launched a coordinated effort with several university departments to identify new donor markets while maintaining existing donor relationships and giving levels.

My role on the team was to create a fundraising program that targeted former student-athletes while also executing operations for the foundation.  During this time, I designed and executed a fundraising business plan including budget plan, marketing plan, and operations plan that identified 5,000 potential donors representing approximately $250,000 of new gifts.
